The Penans of Ulu Magoh
Sunday, March 9th, 2008In recent Chinese New Year Holiday, I went for a hike with a group of friends in the interior of Sarawak, Malaysia. Our goal was to understand the lives and struggles of one of the last hunter-gatherers, the tribes of the earth, the Penan. This tour was inspired by Bruno Manser, the nature of Switzerland, which is an activist for the rights of the Penan. What gives me the trip was entirely spontaneous. This was not part of the tour package.
